Your friendly hosts

After a long and scenic drive through the Great Karoo you find the historical town of Beaufort West. Hometown of the late Dr. Chris Barnard, the international known heart surgeon. Amid the old buildings and museum’s you will find Tree Top Guest House which is one of the earliest residential buildings in the town. This guesthouse is situated in the most beautiful and famous Bird street.

Tree Top Guest House offers our guest’s eleven spacious and stylish en-suite rooms for that home-away-from-home feeling! All rooms are furnished with King or Queen Size beds for real sleep satisfaction.

Also available is a cozy self catering Karoo cottage for those travellers who wish to spend more time in town.

We have safe, enclosed parking behind remote controlled gates to be opened by the guests themselves with their own remote control.

Relax and unwind underneath the giant pear trees, or next to the sparkling pool with braai facilities.  In the evening enjoy a drink in our unique little bar, or relax in the fine furbished lounge. In mid winter enjoy the luxury of the fireplace in our lounge to warm up your experience of the Great Karoo.

In the morning our guests can enjoy our full English Breakfast, making this establishment one of the more popular bed and breakfast overnight stays in Beaufort West.

History of
Beaufort West
In 1818 a town was established on the farm Hooyvlakte at the request of Lord Charles Somerset, then governor at the Cape. His aim was to establish and maintain law and order in the hinterland. He arranged for it to be named in honour of his father, the fifth Duke of Beaufort. Today, a typical "platteland" town with a rich, romantic history Beaufort West welcomes visitors who wish to study its fascinating ecology. It also offers you a glimpse into the Anglo-Boer War.  MORE>>>>>
